Core Floor Restore
An integrated approach to pelvic floor issues, core strength and physical recovery for new mothers.
If you're a new Mum and you're currently feeling completely amazing - then congratulations, because you're a rare being!
For most new Mums, the reality of the postnatal period is a very different story.
"I've got no core strength."
"I can't run without leaking."
"My back hurts every time I bend down to pick my baby up."
"My wrists ache all the time."
"I wake up with a headache."
"I used to be so strong, but now I just feel broken."
These are the types of things so many new mums have said to me over the years in my clinical practice.
And it breaks my heart every time. Because this isn't the way our bodies are supposed to be! Not even after pregnancy!
Being a new Mum can be a tough gig! There's a whole range of physical, emotional, social and financial challenges to face. And it's a rare Mum who can simply take it all in her stride! For many of us, these physical changes are the most difficult to accept - because we didn't expect the impact of pregnancy on our body to extend so far into our postnatal period.
But the thing is, it's not just the impact of the pregnancy that can be detrimental to our bodies - certainly, it's often a big factor, but for most women, what comes after pregnancy can also have a massive impact on how quickly we can bounce back physically.
The Body Mind Baby program has been designed by me, a Women's Health Occupational Therapist (and Mum of two), to support you to understand exactly what is happening to your body now that you're a mother.
Through the program you'll learn what activities might be increasing your physical complaints, what you can do to prevent or improve issues such as pelvic floor leakage and abdominal separation, and how you can build excellent habits into your daily life, to set your body (and yourself) up for a strong, functional future.
What we cover in this program:
- Pelvic floor dysfunction, incontinence ("leakage") and pelvic organ prolapse
- Abdominal separation (diastasis recti)
- The integrated approach to core strength rehabilitation - eg. the only approach that truly works!
- Post-natal injury prevention and treatment options
- Post-natal postural advice
- The impacts of hormonal change on physical recovery
- Nutrition for physical recovery
- Building a positive body image.
